Beginning Wednesday, September 1st , Elizabeth will be leading another semester of Integral Taiji & Qigong classes at CIIS. The class is sponsored by Student Alliance and is free to the CIIS community.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays at 12-1pm in Namaste Hall.
Our Integral Taiji & Qigong classes focus on embodied, spiritual, social, ecological, psychological, and philosophical dimensions of qigong and taiji. We practice standing meditation, walking meditation, Taiji Ruler, the Eight Treasures, taiji dance, push hands, and more. We also practice sections of the Yang style slow form. Everyone is invited to participate, regardless of prior experience. Feel free to come as little or as often as you want.
A little about Elizabeth:
She's a doctoral student in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness (PCC) program at CIIS. Since 2006, She’s been training in Chinese internal arts (taiji, bagua, xingyi) with PCC professor Dr. Sean Kelly. In 2009, She also began studying Bodymind Healing Qigong with Dr. Michael Mayer. In Spring 2010, She assisted Sean in his Integral Tai Chi class at CIIS, and she assisted Michael in his Esalen workshop on "Tai Chi Chuan: Four Dimensions of Purpose." This is her third semester offering Integral Taiji & Qigong classes sponsored by Student Alliance.
