Student Alliance Mission

Student Alliance is a student-run organization that facilitates communication, sponsors events, and allocates funding to help students and student groups actualize the seven institute ideals. Listening to student voices, we build alliances, cultivate student leadership, and advocate for social change and transformation of existing power structures.

Free Yoga

Student Alliance and the Staff Association have teamed again up to offer Free Yoga!!! Check out our flier or the SA bulletin board outside the café for dates and times. Namaste!

Student Alliance Coordination

Lil Milagro Martinez-Cornejo , lilmilagromc 'at' gmail.com, manage the Student Alliance budget and the Social Justice and Community Research Grant, and communicates Student Alliance projects and events

Fei Hu, fei.ciis 'at' gmail.com, communicates with the student body about campus events, SA meetings, works closely with campus groups and administers the Yoga and Tai Chi classes. She also oversees Hear and Now newsletter and the SA website.

Campus Group Representatives

Now seeking representatives from each campus group.

Campus Group Representatives 1) attend Student Alliance Meetings (see events) or try to ensure that someone else from their group attends, 2) act as an interface between SA and their group by sharing news and ideas from Student Alliance with their group and from their group with Student Alliance, and 3) stay informed of Student Alliance support available to their group.

Program Representatives

Now seeking Program Representatives from each department.

Program Representatives 1) attend Student Alliance Meetings (see events) or try to ensure that someone else from their department attends, if they cannot, 2) act as an interface between SA and their department by sharing news from Student Alliance with their department and from their department with Student Alliance, and 3) attend at least one meeting per semester of another campus group and share news and insights from that experience with Student Alliance and students in their department to further increase community and interconnectedness among students at CIIS.
